Polisi Dar yaua majambazi wanne wanaodaiwa kuwaua askari wanne waliokuwa lindo Mbagala DSM mwezi Agosti, yakamata 'Panya Road' 10.

Kikosi Maalumu cha Kupambana na Ujambazi wa Kutumia Silaha cha Jeshi la Polisi Kanda Maalumu ya Dar es Salaam kilifanikiwa kukamata watuhumiwa wanne wa ujambazi waliohusika katika mauaji ya askari polisi 4 katika benki ya CRDB iliyopo maeneo ya Mbande, Mbagala jijini Dar es Salaam.

Kamishna wa Kanda hiyo, Kamanda Simon Sirro wakati akizungumza na waandishi wa habari leo jijini Dar es Salaam, amesema watuhumiwa hao walikamatwa wakati wa majibizano ya risasi yaliyotokea Oktoba 11, 2016 katika pori la Dondwe lililopo Chanika.

“Kikosi kilifanikiwa kumkamata mtuhumiwa mmoja, baada ya kupata taarifa kutoka kwa raia wema kuwa ni jambazi na ndiye aliyehusika katika mauaji ya askari polisi huko Mbande,” amesema.

Kamanda Sirro ameongeza kuwa “Baada ya kumkamata mtuhumiwa huyo alikiri kuhusika na tukio hilo akiwa na wenzie saba, alitupeleka mahala walipo wenzake, ila alikimbia, wenzie walipojua polisi wapo maeneo hayo, walianza kurusha risasi ndipo polisi nao wakaanza kurusha risasi.”

Kamanda Sirro amesema kuwa, watuhumiwa hao walizidiwa na mashambulizi ya risasi ambapo walijeruhiwa vibaya na kwamba walifariki dunia wakiwa wanapatiwa matibabu katika Hospitali ya Taifa Muhimbili.

Amesema askari polisi walifanikiwa kuipata bunduki ya kijeshi aina ya SMG iliyofutwa usajili ambayo watuhumiwa hao waliipora kutoka mikononi mwa polisi waliowaua mbande ikiwa na risasi 22 ndani ya magazine.

Katika tukio lingine, Kamanda Sirro amesema mnamo Oktoba 11, 2016 maeneo ya magomeni polisi wakiwa doria walifanikiwa kukamata bastola moja aina ya bereta baada ya kutelekezwa na kundi la vijana.

Pia amesema Jeshi la Polisi limekamata watuhumiwa watatu wakiwa na bomu moja la kienyeji, mapanga manne, visu viwili, na bisibisi moja.

Vilevile Jeshi la Polisi Dar es Salaam Oktoba 12, 2016 walikamata panya road zaidi ya 10 maeneo ya Mbagala.

Waziri awapa ahueni walimu 4 waliotoa kipigo kwa mwanafunzi Mbeya

Baada ya uamuzi wa kuwafukuza vyuo walimu wanne waliokuwa kwenye mafunzo ya vitendo katika Shule ya Sekondari ya Kutwa ya Mbeya (Mbeya Day), serikali imesema vyuo husika vinaweza kushauri adhabu mbadala iwapo vitajiridhisha kuwepo kwa mazingira tofauti na yaliyozingatiwa kwenye uamuzi wa kuwafukuza vyuo.

Waziri wa Elimu, Sayansi, Teknolojia na Mafunzo ya Ufundi, Profesa Joyce Ndalichako alisema hayo juzi alipozungumza na waandishi wa habari mkoani Mbeya alikokuwa katika ziara kwenye shule mbalimbali mkoani humo.

Profesa Ndalichako alisema uamuzi uliochukuliwa na ofisi yake ulizingatia sheria ndogo zilizotungwa katika Chuo Kikuu cha Dar es Salaam (Udsm) zinazoainisha makosa yanayoweza kumfukuzisha chuo mwanafunzi.

Hata hivyo, alisema uamuzi uliochukuliwa unaweza kutazamwa upya na vyuo husika iwapo uzito uliochukuliwa na wizara utaonekana kuwa katika mazingira na uhalisia wa tukio husika.

Walimu wanne waliokuwa kwa vitendo katika shule ya Mbeya Day walifukuzwa vyuo baada ya uamuzi wa serikali kutokana na kuhusika kumpiga mwanafunzi Sebastain Chinguku vibao, mateke na fimbo kwa ukatili Septemba 28 mwaka huu shuleni humo.

Walimu hao walibainika baada ya kipande cha video kusambazwa katika mitandao ya kijamii hivi karibuni. Waliohusika na vyuo walivyokuwa wakisoma ni Frank Msigwa (anayedaiwa kumpiga zaidi mwanafunzi makofi kichwani), John Deo na Sante Gwamaka wote wa DUCE-UDSM, na Evans Sanga wa Chuo Kikuu cha Kumbukumbu ya Mwalimu Nyerere.

Akijibu swali la idadi ipi ya viboko inastahili kutolewa kama adhabu kwa mwanafunzi anayekwenda kinyume na maelekezo ya shule yake, Profesa Ndalichako alisema binafsi asingependa mwanafunzi achapwe hata kiboko kimoja lakini hilo linawezekana pale wanafunzi watakapozingatia maadili.

“Adhabu yoyote kwa mwanafunzi inatolewa pale anapokuwa amekwenda kinyume na maadili ya shule yake. Kama wanafunzi wote watazingatia maadili sidhani kama kuna mwalimu atakayempiga mwanafunzi hata kiboko kimoja. Haya yote yanatokea kutokana na wanafunzi kukosa nidhamu,” alisisitiza Ndalichako

US election: Trump presidency 'dangerous', says UN rights chief

Donald Trump's "deeply unsettling and disturbing" views make him a danger internationally, the UN's human rights chief has said.

UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Raad al-Hussein cited Mr Trump's comments on the use of torture and his attitude to "vulnerable communities".

The Republican presidential candidate's campaign has been marked by a number of controversial comments.

Recent crude remarks about women have caused the biggest political fallout.

Overnight President Barack Obama, at a rally for Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton, condemned those comments, saying: "The guy says stuff that nobody would find tolerable if they were applying for a job at 7-Eleven."

Mr Hussein said at a news briefing in Geneva: "If Donald Trump is elected on the basis of what he has said already - and unless that changes - I think it is without any doubt that he would be dangerous from an international point of view."

Mr Hussein said he was "not keen or intent on interfering in any political campaign within any particular country".

But he said that when an election could result in an increase in the use of torture "or the focus on vulnerable communities in a way that suggests that they may well be deprived of their human rights, then I think it is incumbent to say so".

Mr Hussein has spoken out before on Mr Trump's policies, saying in June that "bigotry is not proof of strong leadership", while in September he launched a scathing attack on Western populist politicians, branding them "demagogues and political fantasists".

During the campaign, Mr Trump has said that "torture works" and has promised to bring back "a lot worse than waterboarding".

Waterboarding and other harsh interrogation techniques previously used by US forces on terror suspects have been banned by the Obama administration.

Mr Trump said of waterboarding in June: "I like it a lot. I don't think it's tough enough."

His comments on migrants, Mexicans in particular, have drawn fire from rights activists.

He has vowed to build a wall along the Mexican border and in June 2015 branded some Mexican migrants "rapists" and "murderers".

Mr Hussein's latest comments are unlikely to change the New York billionaire's harsh criticism of the United Nations.

"The United Nations is not a friend of democracy," Mr Trump said in March. "It's not a friend even to the United States of America, where as we all know, it has its home."

He has criticised the US spending on the organisation. In April, he said: "Where do you ever see the United Nations? Do they ever settle anything? It's just like a political game. The United Nations - I mean the money we spend on the United Nations."

London may be one of the most expensive cities in the world for tourists, but not if you are after a Louis Vuitton handbag.

According to research from Deloitte, items from the designer and other luxury goods now cost less in Britain in dollar terms than anywhere else.

It linked the trend to the fall in sterling since the Brexit vote, which has boosted tourists' spending power.

The pound has fallen more than 17% against the dollar since June.

According to the research, which was prepared for the Wall Street Journal, a Speedy 30 handbag from Louis Vuitton cost £645 in London as of 7 October, or $802.

That compared to €760 ($850) in Paris and $970 in New York. In China the bag cost 7,450 yuan, or $1,115.

'Demand pull'

Nick Pope, fashion and luxury lead at Deloitte, told the BBC a "period of affordability" after the EU referendum vote was proving a "demand pull" for tourists, who account for more than half of the UK's luxury goods market

"The trend in luxury pricing in the UK is being driven mainly by the depression on the sterling - thus making the same item more affordable in the UK market than in any other major luxury market," he said.

"People don't like paying more for the same product."

That chimes with official statistics that show overseas residents made 3.8 million visits to the UK in July - up 2% on the same month last year. In total, they spent some £2.5bn.

The fall in sterling has pushed up the price of some everyday goods, but Deloitte said luxury retailers had kept prices stable for fear of scaring off consumers.

It said 64% of comparable luxury products were now cheaper in the UK than anywhere else.

Other examples include Balenciaga's Foulard Fringe Dress, which currently costs about $400 less in the UK than in the US.

'New normal'

A Brunello Cucinelli cashmere v-neck for men, meanwhile, now costs £650, or $843, in Britain compared to $942 in France and $995 in the US.

Mr Pope warned the discounts would not necessarily last, however, adding that a small number of brands had already put prices up.

"Luxury brands are usually - and rightly - cautious about en masse pricing adjustments," he said.

"But if over six to 12 months this sterling position becomes the 'new normal' - and hence margins are under continued pressure - I would expect more brands to respond with pricing adjustments."
